Inge de Bruijn World Record 56.61, 100m Butterfly, 2000 Sydney Olympics

Dutch superstar Inge de Bruijn winning Gold in the 100m butterfly at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in a world record time of 56.61. De Bruijn went on to win 3 Golds and 1 Silver at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and a 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronzes in the Athens 2004 Games. As of May 2009, De Bruijns world record of 56.61 still had not been beaten.
